Been a very busy week for everyone. On Wednesday We got the amazing news that the babies are all doing well and given they are taking feeds they would be coming home soon. By Wednesday evening were told to make ourselves ready for a 2 night stay at the hospital with the babies! Then home Saturday. More to follow!
Last nights top weight results!
Joshua up 100g at 2.015kg or 4lbs 7oz James up 35g at 1.985kg Emily up 70g at 1.830kg Lauren up 74g at 1.815kg Another fun and busy day spent in hospital. It was bath time for James. He didn't cry too much. Better than his sister Lauren who was having a bath for the second time.
They got to meet their great grandma today. Freda was very pleased to meet them and spend the afternoon with them. Emily and Joshua both had their hearing tests done and passed with flying colours. The feeding is still continuing to go well. What a great day. No more monitors!! No more beeping machines.yay!!
Mum and nan spent all day at hospital. It was a busy day, firstly mum breastfed Emily but she was too sleepy so had to be tube fed. Nan bottle fed Joshua and changed his nappy plus both girls. Mum then breastfed and bottle fed James and then later on Lauren. It was a busy day on the present front. A parcel delivered to the hospital. It was a lady who read our story in the Daily Mail and wanted to wish us well. She had knitted some cardigans for the quads. Made mum cry as some people are just so kind. Then we received a massive package from Sue Grant, lovely baby grows and soft toys. So lovely. Then more items of clothing from Sarah and Keith. Everyone is so kind. Anyway Dad came to the hospital in the evening and had cuddles with James and Lauren. He escaped nappy changes for today!! Lauren had her first bath today! Amazing, she cried a lot, so think we need a couple more before she gets to like it. She did like her hair being washed. Everyone else had a fun day with Mum and Dad, pretty full on with nappy changes, feeds, bath time and changing everyone's outfits, as green not the boys favourite colours.
Other breaking news is that the SCBU Baby Unit is now open for visitors! So Steve and Sandra got to see the babies after a 4 week break since they last saw them in Oxford! A big day for Emily and Joshua as they got to share a cot together for a few hours.....I wonder what they thought of each other!
All doing well taking bottles. James had 4 in a row. Lauren did exceptionally well breast feeding....lets hope soon you will all be big and strong enough to come home. Lauren also not needed any oxygen all afternoon,we will see if this has continued. Yesterday she only managed for half an hour. James had to go back on low flow as he got a bit tired, but he managed most of yesterday without it. Go for it kids! Emily up 100g
Lauren up 80g Joshua up 30g James up 75g Are the results from last night on the weight front! James came off Oxygen at 12 noon and Lauren came off Oxygen for an hour. Everyone on four hourly feeds now! Dad did James's bottle feed and huge cuddles as he was very tired afterwards. Mum bottle feed Emily, who managed to finish the lot! Next up for feeding is Joshua! Another top day all round. Emily still managing without any Oxygen, almost 48 hours!
Bottle feeding competition between Emily and Joshua. Emily managed to finish her bottle with Mum! Joshua did not quite finish with Dad as he fell asleep prior to draining the bottle. Boys were doing great copying job today and monitors always tracking each other! Amazing really. Great news, Joshua is now out of his incubator and in his cot, but even better he jumped a stage and not in a hot cot!
James started massive crying session after feed but calmed down after cuddle with Dad. Joshua copied James within seconds and Mum had cuddles and everything fine. Emily and Lauren came out for cuddles with Mum. Dad did the hard work with feeds and nappy changes! Lauren looking pale but blood tests came back ok. Roll onTuesday! |
